A Heartful Gratitude to Our 2024 Donors
As we reflect on the past year, we are filled with gratitude for the incredible generosity and support of our donors. 2024 was a year of growth, connection, and community, and none of this would have been possible without you.
Thanks to your contributions, Romero House was able to house 18 refugee families at a time, helping them build a new life in Canada. Here are just a few highlights from a transformative year:
✨ Summer Camps: Thanks to you, our children had a safe, enriching environment to explore, learn, and create lasting memories. Our Summer Camp provided not just fun, but an opportunity for growth, building confidence, and forging friendships that will last a lifetime.
✨ Kids Club & Teens Club: Your support keeps these vital programs running, providing kids and teens with a sense of belonging and purpose. Every session helped develop new skills, foster creativity, and encourage personal growth. These programs were an essential part of helping our youth thrive in their new community.
✨ Community Host Program: Through the program, families gain a supportive network that helps them navigate their new surroundings, offering everything from a cosy bed, emotional support to practical guidance on daily life. Hosts can become not just guides, but lifelong connections who share in the journey of these families as they find stability and belonging. In the last quarter, the program recruited four new hosts and placed five families for a total of 250 stay nights. Twelve guests including six adults and six children found permanent housing after their stay with the hosts.
✨ Romero Moves: We gathered for a fun event that celebrated community and solidarity. Whether running, walking, or rolling through High Park, Romero Moves was a beautiful reminder of how far we’ve come as a community—and how much we still have to look forward to. Romero Moves was made possible by 70 participants, 45 volunteers and community spirit and support. Our fundraising goal was $34,000, but total donations came out to $38,420. We are so grateful to everyone who helped us reach this goal and who shared this beautiful day with us.
Each of these moments represents the difference you made, and the lives you’ve touched. Your unwavering support helps us continue providing essential services, resources, and opportunities to those who need them most.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being a part of this life-changing work. We look forward to what we can achieve together in 2025 and beyond. You are the heart of Romero House, and your generosity is what makes our work possible.
