Romero Moves 2024 at High Park

By Mercy Kiplagat. Romero House Worker

On October 6th, 2024, we gathered for our first-ever 5km Run/Walk/Roll through High Park, and what a day it was. With 65 enthusiastic participants, 45 dedicated volunteers, and the unwavering support of our community, Romero Moves was an incredible success.

Thanks to our amazing fundraisers and donors, we achieved our goal and raised $38,420 to support Romero House’s work with refugee claimants. People of all ages and abilities took to the scenic trails, united in a shared mission to help those seeking safety and support.

The event wrapped up with a heartwarming community picnic and an awards ceremony to honor everyone’s contributions. The sight of our community coming together, all proudly wearing the signature yellow Romero House t-shirts, was unforgettable. It truly captured the spirit of Romero House; community, inclusion, and resilience.

We are immensely grateful to all who participated, volunteered, and cheered us on. This celebration marked a powerful moment for our community, and we look forward to continuing this journey together in the coming year.
