This is a second post in the series “Celebrating Former Residents: Small Business Success Stories” about former resident Erica and Esau Parrilla who lived at Romero House from 2018-2019. They started their food truck business We cater Food on Wheels in 2021.

Business: We Cater Food on Wheels
Bringing food wherever people need it—that’s the vision behind We Cater Food on Wheels, owned by former Romero House residents Erica and Esau. Their goal is to provide delicious comfort food to employees and communities across the city, taking their food trucks to wherever their clients need them.
Originally founded in 2021 under the name ESAU PARRILLA BBQ, the business rebranded last year to better reflect its mission of mobile catering. Their menu features mouthwatering options like sausages, fries, classic and specialty poutine, smash burgers, hot dogs, and chicken strips—comfort food that brings smiles wherever they go.
During the summer, Erica and Esau’s food trucks are a familiar sight at festivals on weekends, while weekdays are dedicated to catering services for businesses and special events. Their largest festival is in Orillia, north of Barrie, but they love traveling to different communities, sharing their passion for good food and great service.

How has Romero House impacted where you are today?
“The support we received from Romero House was fundamental and unconditional because we were able to obtain support from the people who help Romero House to achieve our goals. Infinite thanks always to Romero House, especially to Mary Jo, our adoptive mother in Canada.”
