On Saturday, July 25, Romero House residents, staff, and volunteers came together with neighbours from the surrounding area for an evening of good food, music, games, and plenty of laughs.
The event was originally planned for the afternoon, but a little rain had other plans! The gathering was quickly moved to the evening, and everyone rolled with the change.
Residents of Edna helped make the evening extra special by cooking an incredible spread, including grilled meats, jollof rice, coconut beans, and potato salad. There was lots of food to share, along with plenty of opportunities to sit down, chat, and get to know some new neighbours.
The kids kept busy with bubbles, cornhole, and hopscotch, while others joined in the dancing, including a few rounds of all the World Cup theme songs!
It was a warm and welcoming evening, and a great chance for Romero House residents and neighbours to spend time together, enjoy some delicious food, and make new connections. Even with the last-minute change in plans, the evening turned out to be a memorable one.
