Would you like to be part of Romero House’s mission of welcoming refugees as our neighbours? We are looking for individuals who share our passion and commitment to serving the community. As a member of the board of directors, you will be responsible for overseeing Romero House’s work, including financial, legal, and quality oversight. You will provide leadership by setting direction for the organization and ensuring that we live up to our values.
While previous board experience is valuable, it’s not necessary. Our board of 8-10 members meets monthly, and members are expected to attend the annual retreat and committee work between meetings. With 6-10 hours of commitment per month, you can help us make a difference in the lives of refugees.
We value diversity, and we welcome nominees from all backgrounds. We strive to have a board that includes members with diverse gender, age, and race, with specific skills and knowledge in fundraising, HR, planning, finance, refugee settlement, advocacy, and community life.
If you’re interested in nominating yourself or someone else, please fill out the nomination form. For any questions, please feel free to email our board chair, Lori Neale, at firstname.lastname@example.org. Join us in sharing the feast of joy, friendship, and service that is Romero House.
